Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2024 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture: Part II, which included the work Christ disputing with the doctors by Luca Giordano. The price achieved of USD 40,320.00 (€ 35,238.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luca Giordano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,214,015.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2024 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture: Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christ disputing with the doctors von Luca Giordano zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 35.238,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luca Giordano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.214.015,12).
