A top price for Luc Tuymans - as previously expected
The work Mrs. by Luc Tuymans was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Christies in London in February 2016. The price achieved of GBP 1,482,500.00 (€ 1,899,640.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Mrs. is the most expensive artwork by Luc Tuymans that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Mrs. von Luc Tuymans wurde im Februar 2016 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.482.500,00 (€ 1.899.640,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Mrs. das teuerste Kunstwerk von Luc Tuymans, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
