This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Louis Sené; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1795 sold at auction in May 2020 with the realized price of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,794.92).
