The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,318.99), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Louis Sené have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1795 in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,794.92).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1785 von Louis Sené wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Portrait Miniatures bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.318,99) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Sené auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1795 im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 11.794,92).
