Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work A young artist, seated at a desk, drawing a portrait of a young lady in a sketchbook, in blue coat, yellow waistcoat, white shirt, knotted black stock, gem-set tie-pin, a burgundy velvet-lined olive green coat draped over his shoulders by Louis-Marie Autissier. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,251.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Marie Autissier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work [An important miniature of King William I of the Netherlands, facing left in blue uniform with gold buttons and epaulettes, gold-embroidered red collar, black stock, wearing the breast star of the Order of the Garter, gold-embroidered green curtain ba|AID96990

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit [An important miniature of King William I of the Netherlands, facing left in blue uniform with gold buttons and epaulettes, gold-embroidered red collar, black stock, wearing the breast star of th
