Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Image Of James Joyce by Louis le Brocquy. It changed hands for a price of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,068.34) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis le Brocquy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Travelling Woman With Newspaper in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 741,000.00 (€ 817,072.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Image Of James Joyce von Louis le Brocquy zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.068,34) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis le Brocquy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Travelling Woman With Newspaper im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 741.000,00 (€ 817.072,96).
