Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Allegory by Louis le Brocquy was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 60,480.00 (€ 66,689.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis le Brocquy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travelling Woman With Newspaper in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 741,000.00 (€ 817,072.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Allegory von Louis le Brocquy kam im September 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 60.480,00 (€ 66.689,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis le Brocquy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Travelling Woman With Newspaper im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 741.000,00 (€ 817.072,96).
