Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Young Girl reading a Musical Score; A Young Girl playing with a Bird, also called the Song and the Turtledove by Louis-Jean-François Lagrenée was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. The price achieved of EUR 56,700.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis-Jean-François Lagrenée have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Charles And Ubalde, Surrounded By Nymphs On Their Way To Rescue Renaud From The Palais D'Armide in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 266,153.47).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 56.700,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis-Jean-François Lagrenée auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Charles And Ubalde, Surrounded By Nymphs On Their Way To Rescue Renaud From The Palais D'Armide im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 266.153,47).
