In June 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work The Toast by Louis Charles Moeller. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,498.01), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Louis Charles Moeller have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Art Critic in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 54,575.22).

Im Juni 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Toast von Louis Charles Moeller zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.498,01) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Charles Moeller auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Art Critic im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 54.575,22).
