This artwork by Louis Charles Moeller achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2017. In the American Art auction, the work Discussing The Catch sold for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,902.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Louis Charles Moeller have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Art Critic in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 54,575.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Louis Charles Moeller erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Discussing The Catch für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.902,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Charles Moeller auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Art Critic im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 54.575,22).
