Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Dubious Tale by Louis Charles Moeller was sold in the American Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in April 2011. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,500.00 (€ 11,807.57), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Louis Charles Moeller have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Art Critic in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 54,575.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Dubious Tale von Louis Charles Moeller wurde im April 2011 in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 11.807,57) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Charles Moeller auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Art Critic im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 54.575,22).
