The »bidding war« ended at EUR 15,120.00 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Louis Apol have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A horse-drawn cart on a snowy path in May 2013 with an auction result of EUR 79,500.00.

Die Arbeit Forest path near Velp von Louis Apol wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 15.120,00 und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Apol auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A horse-drawn cart on a snowy path im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 79.500,00.
