The work Forest path near Velp by Louis Apol was sold in the Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam auction at Christies in New York in October this year. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 15,120.00 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Louis Apol have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A horse-drawn cart on a snowy path in May 2013 with an auction result of EUR 79,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Forest path near Velp von Louis Apol wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 15.120,00 und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Apol auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A horse-drawn cart on a snowy path im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 79.500,00.
