Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of EUR 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 5,625.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Apol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A horse-drawn cart on a snowy path in May 2013 with an auction result of EUR 79,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A ferry crossing near Wijk bij Duurstede in winter von Louis Apol kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 5.625,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Apol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A horse-drawn cart on a snowy path im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 79.500,00.
