Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Point of Entry (red slice over green lingam) by Loie Hollowell was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,450.00 (€ 41,721.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Loie Hollowell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Linked Lingams (yellow, green, blue, purple, pink) in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 16,510,000.00 (€ 1,793,414.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Point of Entry (red slice over green lingam) von Loie Hollowell wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 44.450,00 (€ 41.721,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Loie Hollowell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Linked Lingams (yellow, green, blue, purple, pink) im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 16.510.000,00 (€ 1.793.414,08).
