Auction result misses estimated price range

In the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work The Annunciation changed hands for USD 40,625.00 (€ 31,061.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lodovico Cardi da Cigoli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Apparition of Christ to Saint Peter, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 79,250.00 (€ 100,688.02).
