In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Recto: Study Of A Male Nude Seen From The Rear Verso: Study Of A Draped Figure by Lodovico Cardi da Cigoli. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,738.09) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lodovico Cardi da Cigoli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Apparition of Christ to Saint Peter in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 100,688.02).
