It achieved a price of EUR 8,125.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35 %. Admittedly, works by Lodewijk Schelfhout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vue du Val de Grâce, Paris in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 39,650.00 (€ 50,118.93).

Die Arbeit A still life with fruits, flowers and a bottle von Lodewijk Schelfhout kam im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 8.125,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lodewijk Schelfhout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vue du Val de Grâce, Paris im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 39.650,00 (€ 50.118,93).
