Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Chinese Untitled by Liu Yujun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 12,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Yujun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sans titre, which sold at auction in May 2008 for EUR 35,050.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2008 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chinese Untitled von Liu Yujun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 12.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Yujun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sans titre beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für EUR 35.050,00 versteigert wurde.
