A top price for Liu Yongming
This artwork by Liu Yongming achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2016. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Village with an Old Tree sold for HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 137,088.77) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. This high result makes Village with an Old Tree the most expensive artwork by Liu Yongming that we have observed at auctions so far.
