Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Liu Weijian could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art | Hong Kong auction, the work In the Hotel changed hands for HKD 25,200.00 (€ 2,801.98) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Weijian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Engine No. 5 in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 29,206.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Weijian konnte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong wechselte die Arbeit In the Hotel für HKD 25.200,00 (€ 2.801,98) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Weijian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Engine No. 5 im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 29.206,67).
