Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work You Like Me, Why Not? Series No.20 (Painted In 1996) by Liu Wei was sold in the Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year. It achieved a price of HKD 696,000.00 (€ 710,752.17), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. Admittedly, works by Liu Wei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 38,840,000.00 (€ 4,375,907.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit You Like Me, Why Not? Series No.20 (Painted In 1996) von Liu Wei wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 696.000,00 (€ 710.752,17) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Wei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 38.840.000,00 (€ 4.375.907,70).
