A top price for Liu Wei - as previously expected
In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale, which included the work The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) by Liu Wei. It changed hands for a price of HKD 38,840,000.00 (€ 4,375,907.70) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 30,000,000.00 – 40,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) is the most expensive artwork by Liu Wei that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) von Liu Wei zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 38.840.000,00 (€ 4.375.907,70) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 30.000.000,00 – 40.000.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The Revolutionary Family Series (Triptych) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Liu Wei, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
