The work Tribute to the Luo Water Fairy by Liu Mengkuan was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2020. It achieved a price of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 6,847.72), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Liu Mengkuan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Majestic Landscape of Mount Huang in November 2018 with an auction result of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 36,681.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Tribute to the Luo Water Fairy von Liu Mengkuan kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 6.847,72) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Mengkuan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Majestic Landscape of Mount Huang im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 325.000,00 (€ 36.681,97).
