Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Carps in Colourful Pond by Liu Mengkuan. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 107,100.00 (€ 12,392.70). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Mengkuan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Majestic Landscape of Mount Huang, which sold at auction in November 2018 for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 36,681.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Carps in Colourful Pond von Liu Mengkuan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 107.100,00 (€ 12.392,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Mengkuan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Majestic Landscape of Mount Huang beobachtet, die im November 2018 für HKD 325.000,00 (€ 36.681,97) versteigert wurde.
