Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Treasure Island by Lisa Ruyter was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2010, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 12,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 46,875.00 (€ 34,464.38). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lisa Ruyter; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Top of The World sold at auction in May 2006 with the realized price of USD 50,400.00 (€ 39,273.75).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Treasure Island von Lisa Ruyter im September 2010 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 12.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 46.875,00 (€ 34.464,38) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lisa Ruyter; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Top of The World im Mai 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 39.273,75).
