This artwork by Ling Jian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2011. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work Portrait sold for HKD 1,160,000.00 (€ 100,808.31) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 650,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ling Jian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Communist Sisters: Tears of Idealism No. 2, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 163,250.00 (€ 206,353.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 78 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ling Jian erzielte im April 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait für HKD 1.160.000,00 (€ 100.808,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 650.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ling Jian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Communist Sisters: Tears of Idealism No. 2 beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 163.250,00 (€ 206.353,47) versteigert wurde.
