The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 114,277.63), 38% above the upper estimate. Other works by Ling Jian have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 163,250.00 (€ 206,353.47) in June 2008 for the work Communist Sisters: Tears of Idealism No. 2.
