Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction Art for Maggie's: Everyone's Home of Cancer Care, which included the work Boys on the Beach. Barbados, 1972 by Linda McCartney. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,509.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Linda McCartney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work My Love, London, 1978 in September 2018 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,250.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Art for Maggie's: Everyone's Home of Cancer Care durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boys on the Beach. Barbados, 1972 von Linda McCartney zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.509,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Linda McCartney auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit My Love, London, 1978 im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.250,84).
