In May 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Calligraphy／Autumn Scenery by Lin Zhimian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 18,750.00 (€ 2,145.93), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lin Zhimian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Lishu in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,154.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy／Autumn Scenery von Lin Zhimian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 18.750,00 (€ 2.145,93) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lin Zhimian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Lishu im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.154,03).
