Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Landscapes/Calligraphy by Lin Shu was worth HKD 187,500.00 (€ 21,746.53) to a buyer in November 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lin Shu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscapes, which sold at auction in October 2014 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 70,780.13).

Die Arbeit Landscapes/Calligraphy von Lin Shu war einem Käufer im November 2019 HKD 187.500,00 (€ 21.746,53) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 40.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Lin Shu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscapes beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 70.780,13) versteigert wurde.
