Auction result misses estimated price range

In September 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work A Broad Langsham fowl by Lillian Cheviot for GBP 352.50 (€ 355.06). This price was achieved in the auction British and Victorian Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lillian Cheviot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Sheepdog Puppy With A Kitten in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,831.68).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im September 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Broad Langsham fowl von Lillian Cheviot für GBP 352,50 (€ 355,06) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lillian Cheviot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Sheepdog Puppy With A Kitten im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.112,50 (€ 6.831,68).
