Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Flowers by Liao Chi-Chun. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 4,900,000.00 (€ 578,375.40), 23% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Liao Chi-Chun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Garden in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 35,047,500.00 (€ 2,885,337.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers von Liao Chi-Chun zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 4.900.000,00 (€ 578.375,40) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liao Chi-Chun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Garden im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 35.047.500,00 (€ 2.885.337,24).
