Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Asian Art — Evening Sale, which included the work Tamkang Scenery by Liao Chi-Chun. The price achieved of HKD 6,040,000.00 (€ 621,835.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 5,500,000.00 – 7,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Liao Chi-Chun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Garden in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 35,047,500.00 (€ 2,885,337.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art — Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tamkang Scenery von Liao Chi-Chun zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 6.040.000,00 (€ 621.835,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 5.500.000,00 – 7.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liao Chi-Chun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Garden im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 35.047.500,00 (€ 2.885.337,24).
