Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work SCENE FROM THE WINDOW by Liao Chi-Chun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 3,000,000.00 – 3,800,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 3,180,000.00 (€ 387,504.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Liao Chi-Chun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Garden in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 35,047,500.00 (€ 2,885,337.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit SCENE FROM THE WINDOW von Liao Chi-Chun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 3.000.000,00 – 3.800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 3.180.000,00 (€ 387.504,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liao Chi-Chun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Garden im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 35.047.500,00 (€ 2.885.337,24).
