Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ancient Castle In Spain by Liao Chi-Chun was sold in the 20th Century Chinese Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2010. The price achieved of HKD 14,100,000.00 (€ 1,309,126.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 12,000,000.00 – 20,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liao Chi-Chun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Garden, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 35,047,500.00 (€ 2,885,337.24).
