Description
LIANG SHIQIU (1903-1987) Poem by Su Shi Hanging scroll, ink on paper 70.2 x 27.7 cm. (27 5 ⁄ 8 x 10 7 ⁄ 8 in.) Inscribed and signed, with one seal of the artist Dedicated to Yaoxian (Lu Yao-Sian) NOTE: The recipient was Lu Yao-Sian, the owner of the famous collector Huai Yu Tang in Taiwan. Mr. Lu was born in Taixing, Jiangsu Province, and later resided in Suzhou and Shanghai. After 1949, Mr. Lu moved to Taiwan and built up his business. He was fascinated by Chinese traditional culture, enjoyed calligraphy and painting, and had good relationships with people in the art world at that time.
