Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Studio Beside The River by Li Yu was worth HKD 350,000.00 (€ 39,410.52) to a buyer in October 2018. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Yu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Album Of Flowers, Birds And Insects, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 108,000.00 (€ 110,289.13).

Die Arbeit Studio Beside The River von Li Yu war einem Käufer im Oktober 2018 HKD 350.000,00 (€ 39.410,52) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Yu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Album Of Flowers, Birds And Insects beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 108.000,00 (€ 110.289,13) versteigert wurde.
