Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seven-character Couplet in Running Script by Li Wentian was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,546.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Li Wentian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 18,978.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seven-character Couplet in Running Script von Li Wentian wurde im Mai 2014 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 3.546,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Wentian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 18.978,96).
