This artwork by Li Wentian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in June 2020. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphic Couplet in Regular Script sold for HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,743.03) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Wentian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 18,978.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Wentian erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Regular Script für HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.743,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Wentian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 18.978,96) versteigert wurde.
