Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script by Li Wentian. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,449.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Li Wentian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 18,978.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script von Li Wentian zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.449,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Wentian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 18.978,96).
