This artwork by Li Wentian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Couplet In Regular Script sold for USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,258.47) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Wentian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 18,978.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Li Wentian erzielte im März 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Couplet In Regular Script für USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.258,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Wentian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 18.978,96) versteigert wurde.
