Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lester F. Johnson could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Group Closeup #1 changed hands for USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,379.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lester F. Johnson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work City #3 in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 34,375.00 (€ 27,221.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lester F. Johnson konnte im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wechselte die Arbeit Group Closeup #1 für USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.379,24) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lester F. Johnson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit City #3 im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 27.221,25).
