The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,140.00 (€ 1,691.70), 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Leonard McComb have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fish in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,547.55).

Die Arbeit Peaches On A Black Plate von Leonard McComb wurde im Juni 2007 in der Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.140,00 (€ 1.691,70) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonard McComb auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fish im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.547,55).
