This artwork by Leonard McComb achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2010. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Red Roses in a Glass sold for GBP 2,625.00 (€ 3,156.27) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard McComb - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fish, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,547.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leonard McComb erzielte im Juli 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Red Roses in a Glass für GBP 2.625,00 (€ 3.156,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard McComb mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fish beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.547,55) versteigert wurde.
