Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art including The Studio of Humphrey Jennings, which included the work Fish by Leonard McComb. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,215.98) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard McComb - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fish, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 8,547.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art including The Studio of Humphrey Jennings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fish von Leonard McComb zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.215,98) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard McComb mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fish beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 8.547,55) versteigert wurde.
