Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Léon-Henri-Marie Frédéric could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting auction, the work Belgian Au Jardin changed hands for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,801.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon-Henri-Marie Frédéric achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Dentellière Flamande (The Flemish Lace Maker) in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 77,909.36).
