Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Leon Berkowitz could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Vertical No. 7 changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,216.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leon Berkowitz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Algonquit #5, which sold at auction in July 2006 for USD 14,400.00 (€ 11,281.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leon Berkowitz konnte im September 2010 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Vertical No. 7 für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.216,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Leon Berkowitz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Algonquit #5 beobachtet, die im Juli 2006 für USD 14.400,00 (€ 11.281,73) versteigert wurde.
