In April 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art, which included the work Ancestor, 1949 by Lee Mullican. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,287.50 (€ 6,889.03), 66% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Mullican achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bright Path, 1967 in September last year with an auction result of USD 69,675.00 (€ 71,220.48).

Im April 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ancestor, 1949 von Lee Mullican zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.287,50 (€ 6.889,03) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Mullican erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bright Path, 1967 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 69.675,00 (€ 71.220,48).
