Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art, which included the work Shooting Chant, 1985/1992-93 by Lee Mullican. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 15,300.00 (€ 14,520.26). Admittedly, works by Lee Mullican have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bright Path, 1967 in September last year with an auction result of USD 69,675.00 (€ 71,220.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shooting Chant, 1985/1992-93 von Lee Mullican zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 15.300,00 (€ 14.520,26) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lee Mullican auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bright Path, 1967 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 69.675,00 (€ 71.220,48).
