This artwork by Lee Mullican achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2021. In the The Collection of Amalia de Schulthess Online auction, the work Ascension, 1948-49 sold for USD 37,812.50 (€ 33,409.17) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lee Mullican - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bright Path, 1967, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 69,675.00 (€ 71,220.48).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lee Mullican erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of Amalia de Schulthess Online wurde die Arbeit Ascension, 1948-49 für USD 37.812,50 (€ 33.409,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lee Mullican mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bright Path, 1967 beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 69.675,00 (€ 71.220,48) versteigert wurde.
